10: Which sex do you think has it easier in our culture?  Have you ever wished you were of the opposite sex?

Ice Cream Daughter

First of all, let us say “gender” instead of “sex.”

Second, how does this question have any value?  In what culture have the female gender ever had it easier?  The male gender has always had it easier and, sadly, will probably continue to do so in first world countries for at least a few more generations.

Despite all the advances in society and culture, females are always at a disadvantage.  Women make less money than men do for doing the same job with the same experience.  Ambitious women are seen as sinful while ambitious men are seen as visionaries.  Women generally do not get heard by doctors the same way men do, and when they do get heard they are called weak, whiny, or something just as bad.  Women are almost always seen as sex objects to either fantasize or pity no matter how modest they might dress.  Men who sleep around are described as players, skirt chasers, and womanizers while women are called sluts, whores, and nymphos.

Most religions push women down, and women that move upwards are seen as Jezebels.  In a more positive light, some are just seen as responsible for the downfall of the world (aka Eve).  Politics is just as bad where Hillary Clinton is almost always seen in a negative light despite portraying the same characteristics of several of her male counterparts in congress.

These are just a few of the things that come to mind and I am too tired to add anymore to the first question, save for this.  The picture above is my now 7 year old daughter.  It saddens me to know that she will always have to work harder and smarter just to get what males will get for tremendously less work.  However, my daughter is awesome, and her life continues to and will continue to make the world a better place.

My answer to the second question is no.
